The project area is a private property, which is located in the municipalities Altamira and Novo Progresso, in the State of Pará.
In addition to the project’s ecological and carbon benefits, a proportion of the carbon credits generated will be dedicated to improving the social and environmental conditions in the project region, specifically contributing to improving deforestation control, aiming at the propagation of environmental awareness, generation of alternative sources of income and environmental education actions.
The Curuá Project delivers measurable environmental and social outcomes, driving ecosystem restoration in the Amazon:
hectares of forest protected and under restoration
hectares of deforestation avoided throughout the project
in avoided emissions over 40 years, an average of 73.615 tCO₂e per year
