Enabled by Future Climate, CONAMP offsets emissions from two major events and receives the Carbon Neutral seal

The National Association of Public Prosecutors (CONAMP) has taken an important step in its climate agenda. In partnership with the Future Climate Group, the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of two major events held in 2025 were inventoried and offset: the XXII National Public Prosecutors’ Soccer Tournament, in Campo Grande (MS), and the Rio de Janeiro State Public Prosecutors’ Congress – Pre-COP 30, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

In total, the events brought together 2,438 participants and resulted in 189 tons of CO₂ equivalent. Most of the emissions were associated with participants’ and spectators’ air and ground travel.

The compensation was carried out through the purchase of carbon credits from the Assuruá I Wind Power Plant Project, located in Gentio do Ouro, in the north-central region of the State of Bahia. The project contributes to the country’s energy security, especially during drought periods when water availability is reduced.

The project is certified and verified by the Global Carbon Council, holding the following seals:

  • E+ Label (No Environmental Harm Seal)
  • S+ Label (No Social Harm Seal)
  • SDG+ Label (Diamond Seal)
  • C+ Label (CORSIA+ Seal), attesting compliance with the sustainability criteria of the international carbon offset and reduction scheme for aviation (CORSIA).

The Assuruá I Wind Power Plant also holds the Diamond Seal for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with verified positive impacts on the following SDGs:

  • 2 – Zero hunger and sustainable agriculture
  • 4 – Quality education
  • 6 – Clean water and sanitation
  • 7 – Affordable and clean energy
  • 8 – Decent work and economic growth
  • 13 – Climate action

During its implementation, the project created new jobs, fostering employment opportunities and economic development in the region.

With the completion of this process, CONAMP received the Carbon Neutral Seal from Future Climate for both events, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and climate responsibility. The next step will be the accounting and offsetting of emissions from the XXVI National Public Prosecutors’ Congress, scheduled for November in Brasília (DF).
