Rio Preto REDD+ Project

An initiative for reforestation and conservation that promotes ecosystem restoration and carbon credit generation in the Amazon.

The Rio Preto REDD+ Project is an initiative focused on forest conservation and restoration across 2,295 hectares of Amazon rainforest, located in the municipalities of Nova Marilândia and Santo Afonso, in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil.

Through assisted natural regeneration and the planting of native species, the project contributes to CO₂ sequestration and emission reduction, promoting vegetation recovery and strengthening the region’s ecosystem services.

Beyond its environmental outcomes, Rio Preto fosters sustainable development through environmental education programs, technical training, and support for local production — creating shared value among nature, communities, and the regional economy.
