The Rio Preto REDD+ Project is an initiative focused on forest conservation and restoration across 2,295 hectares of Amazon rainforest, located in the municipalities of Nova Marilândia and Santo Afonso, in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil.
Through assisted natural regeneration and the planting of native species, the project contributes to CO₂ sequestration and emission reduction, promoting vegetation recovery and strengthening the region’s ecosystem services.
Beyond its environmental outcomes, Rio Preto fosters sustainable development through environmental education programs, technical training, and support for local production — creating shared value among nature, communities, and the regional economy.

The Rio Preto Project delivers measurable environmental and social outcomes, driving ecosystem restoration in the Amazon:
hectares of forest protected and under restoration
hectares of deforestation avoided throughout the project
in avoided emissions over 30 years, an average of 2,925 tCO₂e per year
communities engaged in environmental education and income-generation initiatives
A methodology that combines reforestation, conservation, and local development — creating value for the climate, nature, and people.
We restore degraded areas through the planting of native species and assisted natural regeneration, strengthening ecological balance and carbon sequestration.
We generate and trade high-integrity carbon credits, audited and certified under the VCS and CCB standards.
We use technology and independent audits to monitor the growth of restored areas, ensuring measurable results and transparent communication.
We support local communities through education and beekeeping, creating opportunities and strengthening their bond with the forest.

The Rio Preto Project stands at the forefront of Amazon forest restoration, transforming degraded areas into new, productive, and biodiverse ecosystems. More than just planting trees, the project creates a sustainable cycle of environmental and climate benefits.
It reflects the project’s commitment to generating lasting environmental and social impact, contributing to the global sustainable development agenda.

The Rio Preto Project understands that there can be no standing forest without empowered communities. That’s why it combines environmental education, income generation, and social inclusion — fostering human development in harmony with nature.
Through these efforts, Rio Preto strengthens the connection between nature, people, and the economy, turning conservation into opportunity and sustainability into real impact.
